WELCOME TO THE STUYTOWN RAPID OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT.

EVENT LOCATION: ENTER 252 1ST AVE STUYTOWN COMMUNITY. WALK TO THE CENTER TO THE STUYTOWN OVAL FOUNTAIN.

EVENT TIME: 6:30PM - 9:00 PM

TOURNAMENT TICKET COST: $30.00

PRIZES
The top 3 winners in each section will receive prizes, along with class prize awards for other players.
The winner of the open section will be acknowledged as the Stuytown 2024 Rapid Champion, and the winner of the junior open section will be recognized as the Stuytown Rapid 2024 Junior Champion!
TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
6 ROUNDS OF CHESS: EACH PLAYER WILL PLAY 6 GAMES.
10 + 0 TIME CONTROL: EACH PLAYER WILL GET A 10 MINUTES ON THE CLOCK TO TRY AND WIN.
2 SECTIONS:
OPEN - ALL AGES ALLOWED
JUNIOR OPEN - PLAYERS IN GRADES K-8 ONLY.

Rules
EVENT RULES : THIS EVENT WILL FOLLOW USCF RULES WITH SOME EXCEPTIONS. THIS EVENT IS CLOCK MOVE NOT TOUCH MOVE MEANING YOU ARE NOT FORCED TO MOVE THE PIECE YOU HAVE TOUCHED DURING YOUR TURN. ILLEGAL MOVE LOSES IN THIS EVENT FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU LEAVE YOUR KING IN CHECK AND PRESS THE CLOCK OR IF YOU MOVE A PIECE ILLEGALLY IN A WAY THAT IT IS NOT ALLOWED YOU WILL LOSE THE GAME.
